Objectives
Our program focuses primarily but is not limited to treating children for issues of abuse, neglect and abandonment including behavior modification, developing family living skills, and social and educational development. In addition, we will help our residents learn coping skills, interpersonal skills, social and communication skills and problem solving which will enable them to function in a less restrictive environment.
Silver Lining Residential is a long-term care, residential treatment home located in Houston, TX. Silver Lining Residential is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TXDFPS)
The Facility currently serves boys age 6 to 14. Our program is dedicated to serving boys who experience emotional and/or behavioral problems. Our program provides children that may have been victims of abuse, neglect, substance abuse, or family crisis situations individualized treatment services that address goals and strategies specifying how psychological, educational, social, medical, and recreational needs will best be met. This is done in a safe, clean, nurturing, homelike setting with staff that care about the children. Silver Lining residential promotes programs and activities that help transition youth from their hazardous past to a less restrictive environment which fosters each child's potential to develop life skills and positive behavior.
Silver Lining is dedicated to the belief that every child is unique and deserves an opportunity to live a purposeful life. The multi-disciplinary treatment team, consisting of a psychiatrist, licensed professional counselor (LPC), licensed child care administrator (LCCA), clinical director, case manager, staff supervisor, case worker and child-care worker provide therapeutic milieu which emphasizes interpersonal skills and effective communication. All professional members of the multi-disciplinary team are trained and licensed.
